High integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS)
HIPPS system, High Integrity Pressure Protection System, is a device composed by one or two Quam Gate valves, which is used with
the aim of protecting downstream equipment from overpressure danger or other critical conditions coming from the upstream.
HIPPS System primary function is guaranteeing the immediate line shut-off downstream, in case of dangerous risks of excessive
pressure on the line itself showed up: closing time of this protection system is generally less than 2 seconds.
In order to guarantee perfect functionality and order execution (handled through actuator and related self-contained control system), the
entire HIPPS system is SIL-3 certified.
By being generally exposed to a harsh environment, with raw fluids flowing through them, HIPPS systems are manufactured with
materials and design characteristics carefully selected, in order to minimize possible erosion and corrosion phenomena.
• Dimensions: up to 12”.
• Pressure ratings: up to 20000 psi.
• Possible HIPPS system configurations are: pneumatic or hydraulic, electronic or mechanical.

Hydraulic power unit (HPU)
Quam hydraulic power units are power systems which supply hydraulic fluid to the valve actuator and can be used to supply a single/
multi valve system or project.
HPUs are manufactured in full compliance to customer’s specifications, or proposed in standard Quam configurations, based on our
experience.
Quam’s HPUs can be proposed as simple power supply units or complete with a control system, in order to guarantee integrated valve
control. According to client’s requests, HPUs can be skid mounted, free-standing or directly installed on actuator.

Wellhead control panel (WHCP)
A wellhead control panel is a hydraulic control system that manages open/close commands for the various valves which compose the
topside christmas tree. A WHCP main function consists of well protection operation by guaranteeing well safety valves remote automatic
shut-off, in response to alarm conditions which require operating interruption; a safety manual shut-off option is always available. Quam’s
wellhead control panels are manufactured in full compliance with client’s specifications, or proposed following reliable standard Quam
design based on our experience, both in the single-well and in the more complex multi-well configurations. Suitable both for onshore and
offshore applications.
